Lighting
A fundamental of high-quality film production is using the 3-point lighting setup for the most cinematic footage. Our lights allow us to alter the color temperature, spill, and brightness, allowing for full customization to achieve the perfect lighting for your project.
Audio
Our audio equipment allows us to get the best possible audio quality while still keeping the microphone out of frame. Using some of the best microphones and studio headphones on the market, we can accurately adjust audio settings live on set to provide the best listening experience.
Camera
As one of Sony's newest Full-Frame Mirrorless cameras, the A7C comes packed with professional quality features. One such feature is the dynamic range of 14.5 stops, allowing us more flexibility when editing the S-log color footage in post. For an overall better-presenting image, we put color science above image sharpness. However, this camera is far from having poor resolution thanks to it's 24.2MP backlit sensor, giving it superior low light performance as well as stunning 6k 100M footage downscaled to 4k 100M.
Stabilization
Part of what makes a professional video stand out from amateur video is its stabilization. That is why at Big Sky Cinematography, we use some of the smoothest moving tripods from brands such as Manfrotto all the way to motorized gimbals from DJI. This equipment allows us to get smooth moving footage without any shakes or jitteriness.
Studio
Preserving the most amount of quality in our footage is a priority at Big Sky Cinematography, which is why our studio equipment is just as good as our portable equipment. With a computer that has award-winning 32GB 3600Mhz RAM, a GTX 1660 Ti Graphics card, and a AMD Ryzen 2700 Processor, it is more than capable of handling high-quality footage. Our 32 inch 165 Hz 1ms refresh rate monitor allows us to pick up detail better than a standard 19-24 inch 4ms refresh rate monitor.
Having a professional quality camera does no good if it is combined with cheap lens glass, which is why we use Tamron glass. Tamron lenses allow us to get the sharpest images as well as industry leading Auto-Focus times. Combined with Sony's industry leading autofocus system, it's the perfect combination. Our different lenses allow us to get the right focal lengths for whatever the situation, whether shooting an interview or filming a real estate ad.
